'tis the gift to be free,
'tis the gift to come down where you ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
It will be in the valley of love and delight.
When true simplicity is gained,
To bow and to bend we shan't be ashamed.
To turn, turn will be our delight,
'Til by turning, turning we come round right.
(Shaker hymn)
Wishing you and yours a simply blessed Thanksgiving.
Also grateful for the gift of simplicity here...thank you for you simple wishes and the lovely poem.

i would sing this hymn with my children when they were small as we held hands hands and turned in a circle. what lovely memories you sent my way this morning. thank you. istill sing it while i'm cleaning house or cooking or baking. today i'm hosting thanksgiving for the first time for my daughter, son-in-law, and granchildren. we are vegetarians and my son-in-law has never wanted to give up his turkey. this year he suddenly had a change of heart. i'm so excited. thank you again.
